Alabama Forests Forever Foundation The Alabama Forests Forever Foundation is a cooperative project of the Alabama Forestry Association, the Alabama Forestry Commission and the Auburn University School of Forestry & Wildlife Sciences. The goal of the campaign is to educate the public about Alabama’s forests and show how proper forest management can balance the need to protect the environment with the need to produce products made from trees. This is accomplished through proceeds from the sale of the Forests Forever License Plate shown above. When an individual or business purchases the tag for their vehicle, most of the fifty dollars they spend on it goes directly to the Foundation. The majority of this money is given out as grants to worthy forestry education projects, To see a list of projects that were awarded grants in 2007, please click here. 2008 Grant CycleIf you have a project that you believe would qualify for a grant from the Alabama Forests Forever Foundation, please click here for the grant guidelines and an application for the 2008 grants. The applications are due November 1, 2007. The grants will be judged in November and awarded in early January, 2008. |
